A Historic Partnership in the Heart of Carrara

The history of SA.GE.VAN. MARMI was founded in 2005 and is closely linked to that of Gemignani & Vanelli Marmi, a company that has been operating in the quarrying sector for almost 60 years, producing from the Calocara 102-A quarry in the Miseglia basin in Carrara, various types of white and coloured marble in blocks, semi-blocks and shapeless. The first among the Carrara quarrying companies to have obtained ISO 14001 certification in 2002, Gemignani & Vanelli Marmi is part of the small group of companies operating in the Calocara-Bettogli quarries where Statuario Venato, one of Carrara's most prized white marbles, is extracted, among other qualities. Gemignani & Vanelli Marmi has reached supply agreements with SA.GE.VAN. MARMI to maintain the transformation into slabs of a large part of the marble produced in its quarry. With these agreements, the two companies, recovering the historical characteristics of the local production chain, have decided to bind the added value deriving from the transformation of blocks into slabs to their city.
